I am really proud to announce the release of my “Johnny Promise EP’ on Nookie’s mighty Phuzion DIgital imprint later this month.

Johnny Promise is the second big track I composed taking inspiration from the same sample source as the speech used in “Cascade’. It was a very proud moment when Mike PFM liked it so much he asked if he could remix it. I was honoured that such a legend in the scene wanted to stamp his magic onto one of my pieces of music. Believe me, when your favourite producer of all time wants to remix one of your compositions it is an incredible feeling! When he sent me his remix I was completely blown away by his effortless sounding amen programming and arrangement which destroys any dancefloor (I was asked to rewind Mike’s remix about 4 times at Perception Shrewsbury a couple of years ago!).

Two of the tracks on this EP are quite special to me personally. Soul Mates is an ode to my amazing wife and Another Day seeks to look for the positives following some difficult times a couple of years ago, hence the haunting vocals and melancholic atmosphere.

When Nookie asked me which Phuzion artists I would like to remix my music, one of the first names was Rowpieces so I was thrilled when he remixed ‘Vision of Music’. I think he too has done a tremendous job with it and taken it to another level.

I’d like to thank Nookie for believing in my music and releasing my third artist EP on his label as well as Mike PFM and Robert Rowpieces. Also to DBase for his sublime artwork! 🙂

Phuzion Digital… Deeper Drum & Bass

I’m really pleased that I have completed a brand new piece with a very talented vocalist from Barcelona – Lady Emz.  The track is entitled, ‘Basic Intuition’ which was coined by Emz when she composed the lyrics for the instrumental track I sent to her.

I must say, I have really enjoyed working with a vocalist, rather than just using vocal samples.  I really liked the challenge of fitting it all together into a drum and bass track.
